Dr. Afsaneh Doryab
Afsaneh Doryab is an Assistant Professor of Systems Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Virginia. Her research lies at the intersection of Ubiquitous Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Human-Computer Interaction, and Digital Health. Dr. Doryab focuses on developing computational models of human behavior using data from mobile, wearable, and embedded sensors.
Dr. Audrey Hendricks
Dr. Audrey E. Hendricks is a tenured Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Informatics at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. She is passionate about increasing inclusion and representation in all areas of science, including who completes the research, what questions are asked, and for whom the research is useful. The Hendricks Team works at the intersection of biomedical research and statistical/machine learning method development.
Dr. Shannon Hughes
Dr. Shannon Hughes is the Deputy Director of Division of Cancer Biology (DCB) at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) where she helps to oversee the NCI’s fundamental cancer biology portfolio. She also promotes emerging scientific areas and a diverse cancer research workforce to advance progress in cancer biology.
Dr. Jessica Li
Jingyi Jessica Li, Professor of Statistics and Data Science (also affiliated with Biostatistics, Computational Medicine, and Human Genetics), leads a research group called the Junction of Statistics and Biology at UCLA. Dr. Li focuses on developing interpretable statistical methods for biomedical data, particularly single-cell and spatial transcriptomic data, with a strong emphasis on statistical rigor through the use of synthetic controls.
Dr. Chongzhi Zang
Dr. Chongzhi Zang is an associate professor and resident faculty member in the Center for Public Health Genomics, University of Virginia. Chongzhi is a computational biologist with expertise in cancer epigenomics. His research focuses on algorithm development for high-throughput genomic data analytics and integrative modeling of gene regulatory networks in mammalian cell systems.
