Acceding to the Use of AI Tools in Education 

The influx of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools is revolutionizing our world; AI tools are particularly transforming learning and education as we know it. The number of educators who are averse to using AI tools in their instruction is probably much higher than those who embrace AI tools in their instruction. The reason being that some, if not most, educators fear that incorporating AI tools in instruction would elicit inauthentic work which leads to violation of honor codes. This talk will highlight the impacts of AI tools in higher education, and approaches to incorporate AI tools in education.  

2024 BDSIL Mentor Prince Afriyie is an Associate Professor of Data Science and the Director of the Residential Master of Science in Data Science (MSDS) program at University of Virginia. Afriyie’s research includes multiple comparisons, as well as statistics and data science education.
